August 2009 Business Meeting News
Lion President James presided over this meeting.
The 2009-2010 budget was presented and approved.
Lion Mike Cobb purchased the new storn door and it will be installed soon.
The membership was reminded that Lion Vern is in the hospital and will undergo surgery on August 20.
The speakers for the August 20 meeting will be Larry Proctor from the Guilford County Planning Board and
Les Eger Assistant Director of Guilford County. All members are urged to attend this informative meeting.
The next yard sale will be on 9/12 so we do not conflict with the Festival on the Mount at Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church. No hot dogs will be sold because of the already scheduled Methodist Men's Hot Dog Lunch.
On 9/11 the Community Appreciation Supper will be held from 4-7 PM. Lion Johnny will do the cooking!! Committees are in place for advertising this event and Lion Kathy will see what supplies are needed.
Volunteers will be needed and a sign up sheet will go around at the dinner meeting and the Septemver business meeting.
A thank you card from Boys and Girls Home of North Carolina was received for the chocolate chip cookies that we sent to them.
Lion Jack Keeton distributed the Camp Dogwood chance books.
